Alexandra Rose Raisman was born on May 25, 1994. She retired as an American artist gymnast. She was captain of the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team competition as well as teammates Gabby Douglas and Gabby Douglas the sole Americans who won back-toback team gold medals. Raisman won silver medals for the individual all-around, and floor exercise. She is the third most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, just behind Shannon Miller and Simone Biles, with six Olympic medals.Raisman was also part of the gold-winning American teams in the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships for floor exercise in 2011. She was also the two-time national champion in floor exercise (2012,2015), the 2012 champion national of balance beam and five-time medalist in all-around competitions at national championships (silver and bronze in 2016 2010 and 2011 and 2012 as well as 2012 and the year 2015). She was inducted into The International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
